		Implementing Next Generation Networks in Iceland
In cooperation with:		This project was done in cooperation with Iceland Telecom and carried out as a M.Sc. thesis at the Danish Technical University. The project was 40 ECTS points and was carried out in a seven month period from October 2002 to April 2003. In an oral examination in June 2003 the project received the honorary grade of 13.In the project the financial effect of migrating Iceland Telecom's Public Switched Telecommunications Network (PSTN) towards Ericsson's NGN solution, entitled ENGINE was examined. Evolutionary algorithms were then used to find the optimal position and number of telephone exchanges in Iceland.For more information about the project please visit: www.viskan.net/siminn
		Oiltrend Report
In cooperation with:		The Component Reliability Report program was carried out in the period of 2000 - 2001 while working as an intern at Icelandair Engineering Department. The program is still used by Icelandair Engineering Department to monitor all engines. The Oiltrend Report program gathers information on oil uploads and flight hours of all engines in the Icelandair fleet. It calculates oil consumption and linear trends. This report is then used to monitor engine status since need for maintenance can often be forseen by increased oil consumption. The program in written in VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) and runs as a macro through Excel 2000/XP
		Component Usage Report
In cooperation with:		The Component Usage Report (CRR) program was carried out in the period of 2000 - 2002 as a beginning of a proposed M.Sc. thesis at Icelandair Technical Services. The Component Reliability Report (CRR) gaters information on component reliability of all part numbers from Icelandair's maintenance database. The program in written in VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) and is controlled through a graphical user interface through Excel 2000/XP
